Mary Klotman received her undergraduate training and medical degree from Duke University where she also completed a residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases. Following her training she joined the laboratory of Robert C. Gallo in the National Cancer Institute, NIH where she developed her research focus on... read morethe molecular pathogenesis and molecular therapy of retroviral infections including HIV. She then joined the faculty at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine where she has led own research team in HIV pathogenesis. She also directs the Division of Infectious Diseases and is co-director of the Emerging Pathogens Institute.
