Professor Vladislav Baranov has been the Chief of the Laboratory for prenatal diagnosis of inherited and inborn disorders at the Ott’s Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductology since 1987. He graduated from the State Medical Institute in Lvov (Ukraina) in 1976 and received his PhD and DrSci degrees from the Institute of Experimental Medicine, Saint-Petersburg (Russia).

Professor Baranov is the author and co-author of 30 books and over 400 scientific papers. His research interests are in genetic and cytogenetic aspects of human development, personalized and predictive medicine, gene therapy of endometriosis, and spinal muscular atrophy.
