Dr Kevin Pollock is the lead healthcare scientist for the Immunisation team within Health Protection Scotland. His remit includes HPV, MMR and Shingles. In August 1974, a few days before Kevin was born, he was rushed from Cyprus as the Turks invaded and eventually arrived in Scotland. Forty-three years later, he can only look on at his former country’s economic downfall and think what might have been.
