Dr. Montserrat Guerra Austral University, Chile

Montserrat Guerra obtained her BSc in Biology from Universidad del País Vasco, Spain. She then moved to Chile. At the Medical School of Universidad Austral de Chile, in Valdivia she studied and worked under the supervision of Prof. Esteban Rodríguez, obtaining a MSc degree in Cell Biology and a PhD... read morein Cell and Molecular Biology. She investigated on the secretion of the pars tuberalis of the hypophysis and its interrelationships with the cerebrospinal fluid and the hypothalamic tanycytes. In 2005, Dr. Guerra joined the academic staff of the Universidad Austral. She is currently studying new approaches for the treatment of the neurological impairment and neuroendocrine alterations associated to congenital hydrocephalus.
