His research... read morecareer began as an electrophysiologist but he became interested in the intersections between cell physiology and metabolism, and the laboratory now is primarily focused on understanding mitochondrial cell biology in cell health and disease. A major emphasis is placed on identifying pathways that alter mitochondrial function that potential therapeutic targets in intractable human disease.
