Professor Peter Brennan is consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon at QAH, Portsmouth with an interest in head and neck oncology and reconstruction. Peter is the youngest President of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is the former chairman of the English College MRCS court of examiners and now the Intercollegiate Chairman for MRCS and DOHNS examinations, responsible to all 4 Surgical Colleges and the GMC for the standards, development and quality assurance of these exams in the UK, Ireland and overseas. He was the Honorary Editor of the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (2009-13), and currently Editor in Chief of the Journal of Oral Pathology and Medicine. He is a strong advocate of providing the highest level of care for patients, and uses his work on human factors to promote safe surgery and team-working in head and neck cancer.
