Prior to moving to Graz in 1989, he worked... read more1982-89 at the Department of Physiology and the University Clinic of Internal Medicine, Innsbruck, Austria. From 1995-6 he trained in nephrology at the Hammersmith Hospital, London, UK. He is Adjunct Professor of Medicine and Nephrology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York and holds a teaching appointment at the Medical University Innsbruck. He has authored and co-authored over 300 papers and book chapters. He is an awardee of the 2019 and 2021 KidneyX prize for innovations in dialysis.
