Prior to these appointments, Dr. Tiffany served as a Lecturer at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, and as a Visiting Lecturer at INSEAD, the graduate school of business in Fontainebleau, France. Dr. Tiffany earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University, an MBA from Harvard University, and his Ph.D. from University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Tiffany is active in a number of academic organizations, and has published his research in various journals. Dr. Tiffany's latest book, Business Plans for Dummies (IDG Press), co-authored with Dr. Steven Peterson, was published in August 1997; it was a world-wide top-five finalist in the annual Booz Allen/Financial Times "Best Business Book of the Year" award for 1998. The book is currently in its 15th printing and is available in eight languages. Professor Tiffany is the recipient of awards for both his research and teaching, including the Anvil award in 1985, presented annually to the outstanding professor in Wharton's graduate program, and the Lindback Award as the outstanding professor at the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. He has also been recognized by students as one of the highest-rated professors in the Haas School since he began teaching there in 1994; his current classes there are the single most in-demand courses in the curriculum. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Tiffany worked as a consultant with several national management consulting firms, as an assistant to the president of a large services firm, and as an organizational analyst for a large public services agency. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Tiffany heads Paul Tiffany & Associates, a multi-specialty consulting and training organization based in Northern California that offers management services to firms throughout the world. Healthcare has been a particular specialty, as he has provided management consulting, training, and strategy counsel to numerous organizations in this field.
