Biography

Ian Yeoman is a champion of revenue management and pricing within the service industries, having published over 50 articles, book chapters and conference presentations. He has a PhD in management science from Napier University, Edinburgh and BSc in catering systems from Sheffield City Polytechnic. Ian has recently been appointed as... read morean Associate Professor of Tourism Management at Victoria University in New Zealand. Previously, Ian was the Scenario Planner at VisitScotland responsible for economic modeling, trend analysis and scenario construction. His academic career includes posts as a Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Napier University and University College, Birmingham. Ian is an Honorary Professor of Tourism Management at Stirling University and a Visiting Research Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University. He has extensive experience within the hospitality industry, for which he was a hotel manager with Trusthouse Forte. Ian is the founding Editor of the Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management and is author or editor of numerous other books including Yield Management, Sport & Leisure Operations Management, Festivals & Events Management, Revenue Management & Pricing. Ian is an active supporter of the INFORMS Revenue Management & Pricing section. Ian's new book Tomorrows Tourist looks at the future of world tourism in 2030.
