Toomas Kivisild graduated with BSc in Biology (1992), MSc in Zoology (1994) and PhD in Genetics from University of Tartu, Estonia. He is now the head of the Human Evolutionary Genetics group in the Department of Human Genetics at KU Leuven. His research interests include human evolution and evolutionary population... read moregenetics in the broadest sense. His recent work has used ancient and modern genomes and focused on questions relating to global genetic population structure with evolutionary processes such as selection, drift, migrations and admixture.
