After an early career in basic pituitary research, Dr. Adler has spent more than 25 years doing clinical research in osteoporosis. Recent studies focus on osteoporosis screening and evaluation in men, osteoporosis in mobility disorders such as spinal cord injury, and the effects of microgravity on bone. He was Co-Chair of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) Task Force on Long-Term Bisphosphonate Treatment for Osteoporosis. Dr. Adler is a co-author of the Endocrine Society Male Osteoporosis Guideline and is Co-Chair of the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs Field Advisory Board for Osteoporosis. He is Associate Editor of Osteoporosis International and a Fellow of ASBMR.
