Biography

Philip Molyneux is Professor of Banking and Finance and Dean of the College of Business, Law, Education and Social Science at Bangor University, Wales, U.K. He has published widely in the banking and financial services area including articles in the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Money, Credit and... read moreBanking, European Economic Review, Review of Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance, Economics Letters and Economica. He has acted as a member of the ECON Financial Services expert panel for the European Parliament and the UK HM Treasury/Government Office for Science as an expert adviser. His most recent co-authored texts are on: Thirty Years of Islamic Banking (Palgrave Macmillan, 2005), Shareholder Value in Banking (Palgrave Macmillan, 2006), Introduction to Global Financial Markets 7th edition (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013), Introduction to Banking 2nd edition (FT Prentice Hall, 2014) and the Oxford Handbook of Banking, 2nd edition (OUP, 2014). His main research areas focus on the features of banking and financial systems, modelling bank performance, Islamic banking and wealth management. He has acted as a consultant to: New York Federal Reserve Bank, World Bank, European Commission, Citibank Private Bank, Barclays Wealth, McKinsey’s, Credit Suisse and various other international banks and consulting firms.
