His most recent co-authored texts are on: Thirty Years of Islamic Banking (Palgrave Macmillan, 2005), Shareholder Value in Banking (Palgrave Macmillan, 2006), Introduction to Global Financial Markets 7th edition (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013), Introduction to Banking 2nd edition (FT Prentice Hall, 2014) and the Oxford Handbook of Banking, 2nd edition (OUP, 2014). His main research areas focus on the features of banking and financial systems, modelling bank performance, Islamic banking and wealth management. He has acted as a consultant to: New York Federal Reserve Bank, World Bank, European Commission, Citibank Private Bank, Barclays Wealth, McKinsey’s, Credit Suisse and various other international banks and consulting firms.
