Dr. Katsanis obtained his doctorate from Imperial College, University of London in 1997. He then joined the laboratory of Dr. Lupski at Baylor College of Medicine, where he initiated his studies on Bardet-Biedl syndrome. In 2009, he moved to Duke University to establish the Center for Human Disease Modeling, where he is the Director; his group is interested in understanding the roles of cilia in human physiology and in developing tools that use genetic, genomic and functional information ot dissect the contribution of alleles in human genetic disorders.
