Philip Bromiley is a Dean's Professor in Strategic Management at the Merage School of University of California, Irvine. Previously he held the Curtis L. Carlson Chair in Strategic Management and chaired the Department of Strategic Management & Organization at the University of Minnesota. He holds a B.A. in quantitative studies... read morefrom Johns Hopkins University and a PhD in policy from Carnegie-Mellon University. He has published over 70 articles and two books on strategic decision-making and risk-taking. He currently serves on the boards of Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, and Journal of Strategy and Management. His current research examines strategic decision-making, the behavioral foundations of strategic management research, managerial time horizons, and corporate risk-taking. He is the leading strategic management scholar in the world on issues of corporate risk-taking. He consults and does executive education in the US and Europe for a wide variety of organizations.
