Biography

Karl Herholz is emeritus professor at the University of Manchester and honorary professor at the University of Sheffield. As a neurologist, he had a research career in clinical neuroscience using functional and molecular imaging with positron emission tomography (PET) as his main research tool. From 1982 to 2005 he was... read moreworking at the Max-Planck-Institute for Neurological Research and the University Hospital in Cologne, Germany. From 2006 to 2010 was director of the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre at the University of Manchester and has since continued his research there until his retirement in September 2022. He also held honorary appointments as clinical consultant with the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and the Nuclear Medicine Department at the Central Manchester Foundation Trust. He is providing consultancy in molecular brain imaging for clinical trials and international research projects.
