Werner Nussbaum is a co-founder and the chairman of the Berne based Swiss thinktank Innovation Second Pillar and the Managing Director of a Swiss Pension Education & Consulting institute. He has previously served at the Swiss Department of Justice, as a presidential assistant at the Swiss Supreme Court and as the Head of Division of the occupational pension system at the Swiss Federal Office of Social Insurance. In the 1990s he worked on behalf of the Swiss Government and the Swiss National Foundation for science and research at Stanford University (USA) and in 2006/07 as visiting professor and research fellow at Yonsei University in Seoul (ROK). Since 1997 he works on behalf of the Swiss Government, the World Bank and the Pension Education Center as legal expert for pension reform in several countries in South Eastern Europe and in Africa. Until 2000 he served as a member of the Swiss Federal Commission for occupational pension system and the Swiss pension benefit guaranty foundation.
