Biography

Carrie Menkel-Meadow is A.B. Chettle Professor of Law and Dispute Resolution at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington DC and Chancellor's Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. She is the author or editor of over 10 books (including Dispute Resolution: Beyond the Adversarial Model... read moreWoltersKluwer, 2011, What's Fair: Ethics for Negotiators, Jossey Bass, 2004 and Negotiation: Processes for Problem Solving, WoltersKluwer 2006) and over 150 articles on dispute resolution, negotiation, legal ethics, the legal profession, law and literature and popular culture, legal education, and other subjects. She has been teaching and training judges, lawyers, diplomats, academics, students, and other professionals in negotiation, mediation, dispute resolution and consensus building processes on five continents for 30 years. In addition to her scholarship and teaching, Professor Menkel-Meadow is also a mediator, arbitrator, facilitator, and dispute system design consultant for both public and private parties, including the United Nations and the World Bank.
