Biography

Elke Weber is the Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor in Energy and the Environment, and Professor of Psychology and Public Affairs at Princeton University. Previously she was Jerome A. Chazen Professor of International Business as well as a Professor of Psychology at Columbia University, with a PhD from Harvard University. She... read moreis an expert on behavioral and neural models of judgment and choice under uncertainty and time delays. Weber is past president of the Society for Mathematical Psychology, the Society for Judgment and Decision Making, and the Society for Neuroeconomics. She is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science. She has served on advisory committees of the National Academy of Sciences related to human dimensions in global change. At Columbia, she founded and co-directs the Center for the Decision Sciences (CDS) and the Center for Research on Environmental Decisions (CRED), which investigates ways of facilitating human adaptation to climate change and climate variability.
