Hugh Field is Reader in Comparative Virology based in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Cambridge. He has studied herpes simplex virus pathogenesis for many years with particular reference to the development and assessment of herpesvirus inhibitors. He has had a long-term interest in antiviral agents and... read moreis a past President of the International Society for Antiviral Research. He was a founding editor of Antiviral Chemistry and Chemotherapy now in its 20th year and is currently Editor-in-Chief. He is also currently a Virology Editor for the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy. Dr Field is a Fellow of Queens' College, Cambridge where he is Director of Studies in Medical and Veterinary Sciences.
