His current... read moreresearch interests include the strategic management of human capital, the structure of human resource management systems, and employee selection. Specifically, he is interested in how the management of human capital influences organizational performance and profitability. He is a widely cited author and has published numerous research articles in the broad management discipline. He serves or has served on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Human Resource Management, Quality Management Journal and Personnel Review. He has also been an active member of the Human Resources division of the Academy of Management where he served in a number of capacities, most recently as its Division Chair. In addition to his academic work, he has worked with companies such as Qualcomm, FleetRisk Advisors, Dillard's, and ABF Freight System, Inc.
