OPG declared pandemic operational readiness at the end of 2007. Gian currently represents OPG on various external organization and working groups, including: Independent Electrical System Operator (IESO) - Emergency Preparedness Task Force, IESO Crisis Management Response Team, Canadian Electrical Association's Critical Infrastructure Working Group, and Conference Board of Canada's Council on Emergency Management (Currently Chair of Steering Committee). Gian is also frequently invited to speak at Local and International conferences on the subject of Emergency Management and Pandemic Planning.
