Louise N. Johnson received her training in structural biology at the Royal Institution working on the enzyme lysozyme. Dr. Johnson was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 1990. From 2003-2008 she was Director of Life Sciences at the Diamond Light Source, the UK's new synchrotron source. Dr. Johnson passed away in September 2012 and is survived by her two children.
