Sean O'Connor is currently a consulting Senior Payment System Advisor with the World Bank. Sean was formerly a Research Adviser at the Bank of Canada specializing in policy research for payment systems and financial infrastructure. He has held various positions as a monetary and financial economist in the private sector,... read moregovernment, the International Monetary Fund as well as the Bank of Canada. Sean has also participated as a payments expert in the IMF-World Bank Financial Sector Assessment Program and as a consultant to central banks in emerging markets. Sean represented the Bank of Canada on several international and domestic committees and working groups, including the SWIFT Oversight Group and the BIS' Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems. He also chaired the CPSS Working Group on General Guidance for the Development of Payment Systems.
