Dr. Sendhil Velan Singapore Bioimaging Consortium, Singapore

Sendhil Velan received his PhD in 1997 with a research focus on magnetic resonance from the University of Madras, India and pursued his postdoctoral fellowship in magnetic resonance methodologies at the NIH (1997-1998). He then joined the Biological Imaging Center at the Beckman Institute of California Institute of Technology as... read morea staff scientist where he worked on high field MR microscopy (1999-2002). From 2003-2009 he served as an Assistant Professor at the Center for Advanced Imaging and Department of Radiology of West Virginia University. He moved to the Laboratory of Molecular Imaging, Singapore Bioimaging Consortium in 2009 as Head of MRS and Metabolic Imaging Group. He has developed several magnetic resonance techniques for imaging, self-diffusion measurements, high resolution MRS and localized MRS suitable for pre-clinical and clinical applications.
