Stan Paliwoda is Professor of Marketing at Strathclyde Business School. He was listed as one of the top 50 gurus who have influenced the future of marketing by Marketing Business in December 2003. His research interests include strategic alliances and the transferability of Western management models to countries of lesser... read moredevelopment and different political regimes in the face of global forces driving towards standardization in production and consumption. Much of Stan's empirical research in international marketing focuses on Central Europe and particularly Poland. He has been active in management development related to Poland and has directed activities supported by the UK Know How Fund for Poland (PHARE) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Stan is currently collaborating on a comparative study of advertising across three countries in Central Europe: Poland, Romania and Bulgaria.
