Professor Olivera-Martinez received his medical Degree from La Salle University in Mexico City in 1987

He served as the Medical Director of the liver transplant program at the Instituto Nacional de la Nutrición “Salvador Zubirán” 1998-2008.
He currently is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Associate program Director of the Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
