Biography

"With a Business Studies degree from Oxford Brookes University, and a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Rob has a gained broad experience in tourism, leisure and hospitality.
Starting his career in retail travel, specialising in the student travel sector, he then had 4 years at LEGOLAND Windsor.... read moreHere he was involved in the build, launch and start up programme, which at the time was the most successful launch of a UK visitor attraction, attracting 1.28m visitors in the first season.
Rob then moved into hotels as Leisure Marketing Manager at Regal Hotels, a UK PLC with 115 hotels, responsible for short breaks and leisure marketing portfolio worth about ?15m. He was soon promoted to the role of Head of Marketing, where he initiated the groups first foray into the world of e-commerce. As the hotel group was taken over by a Malaysian conglomerate, and began to shrink through strategic disposals, Rob also initiated a rebranding strategy, to reflag the retained hotels as Corus Hotels. This also included the rebranding of hotels in Australia and Malaysia, where the new owners had 5 properties.
After 5 years in this role, Rob became Sales & Marketing Director for No Ordinary Hotels, a small group of luxury historic properties. Since June 2006, Rob has been running Seabrook Marketing, a specialist consultancy company offering sales and marketing solutions to hotel and hospitality clients. Rob is also a founder director of StaySites, a web site publisher specialising in the accommodation sector, and a founder director of Flexis Hospitality Solutions, a hospitality consultancy offering a breadth of management and operational expertise.
As well as having been the recipient of a number of Hotel Marketing Association awards over the years, Rob has sat on the panel of judges for the annual awards. He has been a member of an advisory marketing group for VisitCornwall and is a regular awards judge for the South West Tourism Awards, across the breadth of tourism businesses."
