Author's Biography

Michael Martinet has specialised in disaster cost recovery training for over 25 years. He has taught scores of disaster cost recovery training programmes in a dozen US states and has assisted local agencies in cost recovery for several presidentially declared disasters. Michael is the founder of the IAEM Disaster Cost Recovery Caucus, which focuses on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance programme issues. Michael has a Master’s degree in emergency services administration and is a Certified Emergency Manager. His book about FEMA’s Public Assistance programme, Fighting With FEMA, is published by Routledge. He is a Fellow and Senior Adviser for the Institute for Sustainable Development on State and Local Disaster Recovery Issues.
