Abstract
In the emerging field of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), we possess the potential to significantly enhance our business operations and processes. Achieving this goal within a large corporation like Nestlé is challenging, however, given the immature stage of this technology. This paper outlines the approach to implementing GenAI at Nestlé, guided by the most influential use cases. It also underscores the importance of scaling people’s capabilities and establishing legal, ethical and compliance frameworks to support the deployment of this technology.

Author's Biography
Enrique Mora works for Nestlé as an Emerging Tech Lead in Global IT Innovation and a Strategic Portfolio Architect. He defines the technologies that could have an immediate impact on IT and integrates AI capabilities into digital products at scale. He has worked on advanced analytics projects in international settings for more than 15 years. Enrique is an associate lecturer in machine learning at the University of Barcelona. He holds a degree in mathematics and an MSc in software engineering.
Luca Dell’Orletta is Global Head of Information Technology Innovation for the Nestlé Group. In this position he is on a mission to unlock tech-powered innovation enabling new business models and continuously future-ready digital products in the world’s largest food and beverage company, with 2,000+ brands, 280,000 employees, and presence in 186 countries. Within Information Technology, he leads the areas of emerging transversal tech (including the overall enablement of generative AI within the organisation), co-innovation with tech partners, employees crowdsourcing and open innovation with the external ecosystem. As a thought inspirational leader, Luca has received several awards for the impact of his critical and creative thinking.
