Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on business administration and facilities management in many ways, including how people access their information. The digitisation of documents allows people to access information and find documents faster than ever. It enables people to perform their jobs more efficiently and effectively.This paper offers tips on deciding which documents to scan and which ones not to scan, along with a step-by-step guide to a successful digitisation project from document review, through digitisation, to choosing the right document management system. The paper also discusses the benefits and return on investment (ROI) of implementing a cloud-based document management system.

Author's Biography
Vivica Williams is the President of archSCAN located in Columbia, MD, USA. She has worked in the document management industry for 16 years. She specialises in working with A/E/C and facilities management professionals to help them transition from paper-based to electronic-based document management. Over the years, Vivica has organised, digitised and managed plan room documents for religious institutions, schools, hospitals, universities and government agencies. Her company has reviewed, digitised and indexed millions of drawings and small-format documents over the past two decades. She provides a turn-key document management approach to bring past document processes into today’s standards. Vivica is a graduate of Smith College and previously worked as a high school teacher and Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa, Kosovo and Canada. She currently resides on a farm in Maryland and has two children and three border collies.
