Abstract
The impact of a global pandemic on alumni events programmes through 2020 and 2021 has been astounding, with physical events cancelled or postponed. Alumni professionals have had to embrace the virtual, moving programmes online and opening up alumni activities to a global audience. This paper offers insight into how an independent school has adapted to the challenges and embraced the opportunities. We offer thoughts on how we will look to take this learning forward into developing a post COVID-19 programme.

Author's Biography
Joanne Whaley is the Alumni and Parent Relations Manager at Dulwich College. Dulwich College is an independent, day and boarding school for boys (aged 2–19 years) in Dulwich, London, England. Following an earlier career in sales and customer service, Joanne moved into in the education sector in 2007 and since then has developed a broad portfolio in fundraising, database management and alumni relations in both higher education and schools. Her current work is on creation and implementation of a strategic alumni relations programme for an active, contactable school alumni community in excess of 11,000. Joanne holds a BSc from Salford University and an MSc from Cranfield University.
