This paper focuses on potential long-term consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on office accommodation. The paper reviews how work and technology could change workplace demand, as well as have an impact on location strategies, to predict where and what forms of offices would be required in the next 5 to 15 years.

Tamás Polster is International Partner, Head of Strategic Consulting, Cushman & Wakefield, Global Occupier Services EMEA. Tamás is helping global occupiers to shape their location, workplace and real estate strategies. Focusing on the interaction between talent, urban trends and occupational demand, Tamás also advises cities and investors on their future strategies and products. Based in Brussels Tamás has 27 years’ experience across EMEA and Asia and is leading several Cushman & Wakefield occupier research initiatives including the innovation award winning web platform ‘Occupier Metrics’.
Nicola Gillen is a global practice lead for workplace strategy and workplace market sector lead in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa (EMIA). She is an architect with a business degree. Nicola’s team includes architects, designers, psychologists and sociologists focused on workplace strategy, design and change management. Nicola specialises in the relationship between behaviour and the built environment. Clients include Rolls-Royce, BMS, BP, Sky, the Estée Lauder Companies, Palace of Westminster and Museum of London. Now based in London, Nicola has worked across Europe, North America and Asia. She drives thought leadership around the future of work, regularly publishing and speaking at conferences.
Dimitris Vlachopoulos leads Cushman & Wakefield’s location strategy practice in EMEA, advising corporates on where to locate their operations from a talent, real estate and business strategy perspective. Dimitris draws from 15 years’ experience consulting on location, portfolio strategy, go-to-market strategy and commercial due diligence. An architect and urban designer with MBA, Dimitris is currently based in London, having worked in New York, Hong Kong, Beijing, Zurich and Greece.
