Abstract
In today’s connected world in which news of events can be known worldwide within minutes, fast and efficient communication with those who are essential to the implementation of business continuity or recovery plans is vital, as is the need to inform the wider audiences of employees and other stakeholders. Achieving this without compromising the launch of such plans and unduly stressing those responsible for them is a challenge that increases exponentially with scale. This paper describes how the UK’s largest employee-owned business met that challenge and connected 200 company business continuity plans to a comprehensive emergency notification database.
