Abstract

The paper outlines how Manchester city centre has been transformed over the past twenty years with a particular focus on the rebuilding following the terrorist attack in June 1996. It seeks to present the people, the partnerships and the processes that have made this happen; and how, in so doing, Manchester was successfully repositioned and rebranded following years of economic decline.
