Abstract
When an emergency occurs, organisations have a limited amount of time to respond before the consequences become increasingly worse. Implementing an effective emergency management notification system can help avoid potentially catastrophic outcomes. This paper provides recommendations for achieving buy-in from stakeholders as well as tips to properly implement, test, audit and improve results.

Author's Biography
Ann Pickren is President of OnSolve, a leading provider of cloud-based notification and collaboration tools. She has spent over 20 years in consulting and consulting management in the fields of IT and its applications across the enterprise for process improvements, crisis communications and business continuity and emergency notifications.
Troy Harper is the General Manager, Public Sector for OnSolve, where he has oversight of the CodeRED product. He joined the company in 2013 after serving in the US Air Force and as a public safety executive for local government. Troy has managed twelve major federal disaster declarations and holds numerous national certifications.
