Invite colleaguesEnterprise case and investigation management: A modern vision
Abstract
Organisations are under severe scrutiny to better address risk, particularly in the financial industry, due to serious cases of risk mismanagement, to say nothing of stringent compliance and regulatory pressures. However, they also need to tackle this with fewer resources and in a more cost-effective manner. This paper will discuss the way in which financial institutions are addressing operational risk management, based around the issues of cost reduction and the ways in which they can have a more holistic view of their enterprise. It will outline the issues faced by institutions, illustrate what executives are doing to empower the front-line investigators and analysts who review risk cases on a daily basis; discuss the best enterprise case management practices that are emerging in the field and how these can reduce costs; as well as explaining how a bird's-eye view of risk across silos and a unified front end results in productivity gains, reduced losses, and an increased capacity to handle regulatory complexity.
