On continuity case studies

Abstract

This article is divided into three sections. The first section provides a taxonomy of case studies within the field of business continuity along with a brief commentary. The second section discusses the proper use of case studies in general pedagogy and provides research-based recommendations for their employment. The third section provides suggestions and examples of how business continuity case studies might be utilised specifically for instruction in the discipline of business continuity planning.

Author's Biography

David Lindstedt is a frequent contributor to the Journal of Business Continuity and Emergency Planning and has presented at numerous local and international conferences. He is the founder of Readiness Analytics and creator of software to measure disaster preparedness. His most recent efforts focus on establishing a foundation for Continuity 2.0.

Timothy Lombardo is an expert in pedagogy, course design, and instructional technology. He has presented at multiple teaching and learning conferences, speaking on issues of quality assessment and data driven course design, student engagement, and course development. He has also served as a peer reviewer on various courses in Ohio, as well as nationally. He currently works as an instructional designer and University Quality Matters coordinator and lecturer at The Ohio State University.
