Abstract
This paper is aimed at providing an overview of corporate actions, the key participants, the major categories and the flow of associated events. It also throws light on how and when the events take place. The purpose, type and impact of various corporate actions are discussed, and the paper also elaborates on the sequence of activities associated with a corporate action event.

Author's Biography
Lavanya Babu is a Senior Business Analyst in the Corporate Actions and Clearance & Settlement services at iNautix Technologies (Bank of New York Mellon’s IT subsidiary). Lavanya manages large technology initiatives in these services from initiation to delivery. Areas of interest include business analysis, project management, programme management and processes quality assurance.
