Invite colleaguesThe changing role of the network manager: Is network management morphing into vendor governance?
Abstract
The profile of network managers has needed to change over the past couple of
years to cope with the increased responsibilities and workload. The selection
and monitoring of a sub-custodian has become an extensive documenting
exercise along with increased needs to review risks in the entire custody
chain. With the increased regulatory pressure on the business, Network
Management will continue to be an important role. What do network managers
need to do in order to cope and adapt to these changes? Is the role morphing
into something else? The challenge lies in the broad scope of expertise the
future network managers are required to hold. A network manager with profound
knowledge in custody and surrounding business flows, a deep understanding of
risk and the ability to work stringently and effectively in procuring the
required services has a bright future ahead.
