Abstract
How realistic is it that clients can pay, or are willing to pay, more for custody in the future? Will clients be willing to pay for tailor made services? Will the increasing risk level and regulatory burden change how fees are calculated? Will static fee models be replaced with more granular models to at least ensure fair pay and provide incitement to change behaviour? These are some of the important questions for the industry today and an attempt is made to address some of them in this paper.

Author's Biography
Göran Fors is Deputy Head of Investor Services at SEB. Göran has been SWIFT Director since 2009 and is Chairman of the SWIFT Board Securities Committee. He serves as Chairman of Euroclear Sweden Market Advisory Committee, T2S National User Group Sweden and the Swedish SWIFT National member group. Furthermore, he is a Member of the EuroCCP Advisory Committee and Member of the VPS Advisory Board.
