She completed an Executive Master in Health Administration at the University of Milan and holds the Italian National Scientific Qualification for both Associate and Full Professorship in General and Clinical Pathology.

Her academic, clinical, and research activities focus on laboratory medicine, hematology diagnostics, coagulation and hemostasis, hemoglobinopathies, newborn screening, translational biomarkers, artificial intelligence in laboratory medicine, and sustainable laboratory medicine.

Prof. Rolla is actively involved in national and international scientific societies, including SIBioC, EFLM, and IFCC, and serves in scientific working groups dedicated to laboratory diagnostics, hematology, coagulation, HbA1c, hemoglobinopathies, and relationships with emerging countries.

She has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles published in prestigious international journals.
