Frank C. Arnett, MD, is Professor of Internal Medicine and Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the Elizabeth Bidgood Chair in Rheumatology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He received his MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1968 and completed his residency in Internal... read moreMedicine and fellowship in Rheumatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He became full-time faculty in the Division of Rheumatology at the Johns Hopkins University from 1974-1984. He became Professor and Director of the Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunogenetics at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1984 and was Chairman of Internal Medicine between 2000-2004. His research expertise is in genetics, and the diseases in which he has the most interest include scleroderma, lupus, spondyloarthritis and other autoimmune diseases. He is Director of the NIH/NIAMS Specialized Center of Research in Scleroderma at UT-Houston.
