Dr. Kayoko Tanaka University of Leicester, UK
1 TalkBiography
Kayoko Tanaka graduated from the University of Tokyo with a BSc in Biophysics and Biochemistry and completed her PhD study in 1995 at the University of Tokyo (Japan) on fission yeast mating factor signalling, which involves multiple small G proteins, including Ras. During her postdoctoral experience at the Swiss Institute... read moreof Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC, Switzerland), the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and the University of Manchester (UK), she studied kinase-mediated cell cycle regulations using mammalian cultured cells and fission yeast as model systems. In 2006, she established her research lab at the University of Leicester (UK). Her current research focus is the mechanism of oncogenic KRas-mediated tumorigenesis. Her technical expertise includes CRISPR-mediated gene editing in cultured mammalian cells, optical microscopy and the biochemistry of small G proteins.
