Dr. Laird trained in Statistics at Harvard University, but has worked in biostatistics for all of her career, specializing in statistical genetics for the past ten years. The focus of Dr. Laird's current research is the design and analysis of family-based association studies and in particular how they may be... read moreapplied in complex disease settings. She is one of the developers of the FBAT software, a widely used program for the analysis of family-based data, and an author of the original EM-algorithm paper.
