Biography

Kathie Knights holds the position of Emeritus Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia. She has a long-standing interest in drug metabolism and in particular the metabolism of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). More recently her research has focused on the renal metabolism of xenobiotics and endobiotics... read morevia glucuronidation. In addition to her research programs Kathie has a significant interest in pharmacology education and has designed and taught programs of pharmacology for undergraduate biomedical science, paramedic and optometry students and postgraduate medical and nurse practitioner students. She is an active member of many professional organisations including the International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (ISSX), the British Pharmacological Society (BPS), and the Australasian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacologists and Toxicologists (ASCEPT). In addition to multiple research publications and book chapters she is also co-author of a major pharmacology text for health professionals.
