Dan Nicolae obtained his PhD in statistics from the University of Chicago and has been a faculty member at the same institution since 1999, with appointments in Statistics (since 1999) and Medicine (since 2006). His research falls into three areas: the genetics of complex diseases, with an emphasis on inflammatory... read morebowel disease and asthma related phenotypes, statistical genetics and theoretical statistics. The current emphasis in his statistical genetics research is on genome-wide association studies. Topics of interest include measuring relative information, testing untyped variation, multi-locus models and testing for gene-environment interaction.
