He has also served as Deputy Team Commander for Rapid Deployment Force in the US Public Health Service. Dr. Hirschfeld's professional interests include immunology, clinical research, and research ethics. He has contributed to the development of new therapeutics, particularly for children, and has been involved in global initiatives to establish guidelines for testing vaccines in pregnant women. He is also a co-founder of an international birth cohort consortium to study environmental influences on human development. Currently, Dr. Hirschfeld is a board member at Precision Medicine Group and has a strong interest in healthcare investments. He continues to be a prominent figure in the field of pediatric health and research.
