Biography

Benedetta Storti graduated with honors in Medicine from the University of Trieste, with a thesis entitled "Behavioural Differences in Subcortical Vascular Dementia without and with Peripheral Visual Pathologies", obtaining the Bruno Finzi Prize for best dissertation on neurology and geriatric issues. She obtained the title of Medical Specialist in Neurology... read moreat the University of Milan Bicocca with honors with her thesis 'Progression in Cognitively Impaired Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: an Observational Study' and was awarded the Giulio Cesare d'Antoni Foundation Prize for studies in the field of vascular pathology. Since 2022, she has been working at Isituto Neurologico Carlo Besta in Milan in the department of Cerebrovascular Diseases. She has developed her expertise mainly in the field of cerebrovascular pathology (ischaemic and haemorrhagic) and in the treatment of patients with juvenile and senile cognitive impairment with vascular genesis.

Her main research interests include cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA), cerebral small vessel disease (SVC), rare stroke causes (e.g. CADASIL, Moyamoya) and juvenile stroke causes. She is author of several publications in international journals. She is a member of: Italian Society of Neurology (SIN), ISA (Italian Stroke Association), European Academy of Neurology (EAN) and ESO (European Stroke Organisation). She is one of the creators of the popular science podcast Neuropod.
