Angela has a Masters in Occupational and Organisational Psychology and a PhD in HR. Her PhD topic was HR reputation, for which she developed a scale of measurement. Prior to working in academia, Angela spent 25 years working for the CIPD as an adviser, leading on research and knowledge development... read morein resourcing, engagement, organsiation development, people and performance, and other OB related topics. She project managed a number of research programmes funded by the CIPD, wrote a series of text books and represented CIPD at government, policy making bodies and research institutions. She has also appeared many times on TV and radio, commenting on topics as diverse as dress codes and significant industrial relations disputes. After leaving the CIPD in 2012, Angela was a visiting lecturer for Bath, Kingston, Bournemouth, the Open University, Sussex, and Croydon College before taking a full time position at Sussex in September 2018.
