Professor MacDonald attended McGill University in Montreal, receiving three degrees BSc, MSc and then MDCM (Medicine). He completed post-graduate training in Clinical Genetics and Ophthalmology in Ottawa, Canada before moving to Edmonton in 1992 where he practices Ocular Genetics as a major clinical and research activity. He has been directly... read moreinvolved in research on choroideremia since the mid-1980s. He maintains a translational research laboratory and is particular interested in bringing new treatments to patients that use genetic therapies.
